Triple Storey House
About The Eyrie
The Eyrie is an unusual triple storey house looking over the Dullstroom Dam and Mountain, with panoramic views from all 3 floors. The house has a downstairs ensuite bedroom, with a sitting area, double bed, bathroom with shower, closed Morso fireplace, and first floor veranda, with braai.
The second floor has a large open plan lounge and kitchen, with a Morso stove in the middle that warms up the entire house. Windows angled to get morning, midday and afternoon sun all keep the house very warm. Regret no DSTV, but there is a DVD player and TV, as well as wifi, code supplied in the house. Sliding doors open onto the second floor balcony, with a built in braai and outdoor furniture.
The third floor is the master bedroom, with panoramic views over Dullstroom from the balcony leading from the bedroom. In warmer months, the doors can be left open for a nice breeze, as it is completely secure. The bathroom has an electric sauna and large shower; the owners request that guests do not use the jacuzzi, due to its size and the amount of water required to fill it. Dullstroom is in a water wise area, with permanent water restrictions in place.
We regret this house is not child friendly, due to the bedrooms being so far apart, but if guests want to provide a camp cot or blow up mattress for a child, they are welcome. There is a security gate on the stairs, if you have very small children.
The Eyrie is pet friendly, with completely secure walls surrounding the property. The large garden has been left as a bird and butterfly natural garden, without formal beds or lawn.
