Staying in the Country
We have a wide selection of cottages on trout farms in the Dullstroom, Tonteldoos and Meander areas. All cottages are fully equipped and have access to trout dams - a select few offer river and dam fishing.
Country cottages - in family, elegant and luxury categories - sleep anything from 2 - 10 people. On some farms, a combination of cottages could put up groups ranging from 12 to 26.

Silo House is a charming stone cottage in real French country tradition, overlooking a well stocked trout dam.

Four and \'n half bedrooms with four bathrooms sleep 8 adults and 2 children as follows: two rooms with queen size beds, one with adjacent sleeper couch for children; two rooms with twin/ 3/4 beds.

Angel's Rest (6 persons) (L)
Enjoy a weekend in the country, in a cosy three bedroomed home on Dullstroom Country Estate. This nature reserve boasts herds of Black Wildebeest, Eland, Zebra and many more species, as well as fishing in two dams. The spacious house has a fully equipped kitchen, lounge with TV and DSTV (please bring own smart card), DVD player. Bedrooms consist of main bedroom with en-suite bathroom and fireplace, twin bedroom en-suite, third bedroom with queen bed as well as two bunk beds also en-suite.

Dullstroom Ranch (10 persons) (L)
Newly renovated country retreat. Dullstroom Ranch is set on 1200 hectares
of pristine North eastern mountain grasslands, equal distance from Dullstroom,
Belfast and Machadodorp. It is situated at roughly 2000 meters above sea level,
and lies in the Escarpment mist belt. The Ranch is blessed with beautiful views
of rolling hills, and is frequented by numerous endangered species, of which the
three Crane species are best known. The main house has 6 en suite bedrooms,
with dinging room and lounge with fireplaces. Adjacent 8 sleeper en suite unit
with fireplace. Games such as cricket and volleyball provide a welcome break.
Dunkeld Country (4-6 persons) (L)
This trout and game resort consists of 14 luxury hotel rooms, licensed restaurant, chapel/conference venue and a selection of popular self-catering cottages. A wide range of activities attract families and groups alike: fishing in 15 trout dams, horse-riding, game drives and hiking, archery and skeet shooting. It is close enough to town (3km) for quick visits to eateries and shops. Tarred road all the way.
Self-catering cottages are close to dams and equipped for 2, 4 or 6 persons each with kitchenette, fireplace, Weber braai, Hi-Fi and DSTV. Double-storey units have living area, bathroom and kitchen downstairs with 2 bedrooms upstairs. Upmarket Woodlands unit has additional bathroom and braai deck over fishing waters. Situated in the magic Cloud Forest behind Forest Creek Lodge, this is an ideal break-away for a couple or small family keen on nature walks and total privacy. Elegantly appointed farm house 27km from Dullstroom, with lovely walks and 4 well stocked trout dams. This historical cottage has been lovingly restored to its former glory . The cottage is private with a brooky-laced verandah overlooking mountains and trout dams. Four bedrooms (2 dbl, 4 single beds) and two bathrooms with antique bath/shower. Antique furniture galore! Cosy lounge with fireplace, large kitchen/dining room equipped with all modcons, (dishwasher, stove/oven, fridge/freezer, microwave) outside braai patio (Weber). Horseriding arranged at no extra cost - 2 stallions for experienced riders, issued with cowboy saddles. Only children over 10 allowed.

Highland Country Estate (6 persons) (L)
Highland Country estate is a 250ha private game and trout farm with conservancy status close to Belfast and 33km from Dullstroom. The Lodge offers guests complete privacy with a nature experience not to be equalled - scenic views, a wide selection of game, a rehab cage for 17 Spotted Eagle owls and a trout dam too deep to measure. (need 4x4 to get to it)
The farm house is fronted with a large wooden deck with lovely views of the valley. The lodge has a sun lounge, main lounge with large fireplace, open plan dining room and fully equipped kitchen with microwave (generator powered), fridge/freezer, gas hob and gas braai. There is a CD/DVD player available and DSTV. BRING YOUR OWN SMART CARD.
Accommodation for 8 -12 people in 4 bedrooms (2 double en suite with luxury baths and showers, two twin rooms sharing an additional bathroom) and additional playroom loft with double sleeper couch in each. Camper cot available. - this house is certainly child friendly!
All facilities are either gas or solar powered with batteries and generators.

Joe‘s Place (2 persons) (L)
Four elegant farm cottages 2km from town, overlooking Dullstroom’s dams and scenic open fields. Each cottage has a double bed with lounge and fireplace, bathroom (bath or shower) and verandah with built-in braai and lovely view.
Lake Heron (2 persons) (L)
Situated in the Elands Valley just 19 kilometers from the village of Dullstroom, San - Solina Cabin is a luxury cottage on the farm of Lake Heron. It is ideally suited for the keen fisherman or just a quiet, romantic weekend away. There are 3 dams available for fishing of which 2 are catch and release only. The dams are all within walking distance of the cottage. The largest dam is situated 600m from the cottage and should not take you more than 5 minutes to walk to. The dams range between 1/2 a hectare to 3 hectares in size.
Bedroom
The bedroom has a king size bed, fireplace and television. There is an electric blanket, hot water bottles and an extra heater for those chilly evenings. There is a portable fan for the warmer days. A hairdryer is available. The bedroom opens out onto a large patio area over looking Maragajeep dam and the sunrise.
Bathroom
There is a separate bathroom with a Victorian bath and shower. There is a heated towel rail and overhead heater.
Lounge / Kitchen Area
The kitchen and lounge area is open plan with a fireplace. There is dining table for 4 people as well as DStv, DVD and a CD player. The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge/freezer, stove, microwave and coffee machine. There is a small selection of DVD's and books for your enjoyment.
Entertainment Area
The patio area extends around the cottage and overlooks two of the dams. There is a Weber braai as well as a separate barrel braai (for those not yet converted to a Weber!) available for your use. Charcoal, firelighters and wood are supplied.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE COTTAGE IS IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO THE MAIN HOUSE AND OLD FARM BUILDINGS. The old farm buildings are being renovated and will shortly be converted into further cottages. -

Salpeterkrans Trout Estate (4 x 6 persons) (L)
Nestled in the heart of the Mpumalanga Highlands north of Dullstroom, the Draaikraal Valley harbours the "Forgotten River" for you to discover.
Accommodation facilities consist of four luxury lodges, all within walking distance of the Klip River, as well as an adventure camp area where up 200 children and 20 staff can be accommodated.
All the cottages are fully equipped with cutlery and crockery, linen and extra linen for the very cold winter nights. All have DSTV, but you need to bring your own smart card.

Zizi Estate (8 persons) (L)
As the ONLY private country house situated in Dullstroom comfort is high on the list of priorities at ZiZi Estate. Awarded a five star status from the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa, each room has been individually created to compliment the surrounding environment and combines an elegant, European style.
At the back of the property the hill rises to a small pine forest, which is ideal for a stroll or a picnic amongst the prolific bird life. For a weekend of relaxation and pleasure, nothing compares with the ZiZi experience.

The source of the Helderwater stream, a tributary of the Watervals river,
is on the property and has some of the clearest water in the
Mpumalanga province.

The large Northfield Dam is about 500m from Northfield house; Horse Shoe Dam is 500m below Northfield and the other 4 dams follows directly after each other and across the stable roads. The day visitors' dam (Orchard Dam) is 2km from these dams on the main entrance road to the farm.

PEACH CABIN Peach Cabin at Wonder waters is a secluded log cabin, overlooking a Kiepersol tree and within 30m of the closest trout dam. Lomas Creek is situated on the Steenkampsberg pass near Roossenekal, linked to the highest peak in the province – De Berg at 2331m.
Due to the altitude and cool climate it is ideal for trout fishing and other sporting activities. The Guest House is registered with De-Berg Conservancy and AGRED (African game bird research and development).
The area has a high rainfall, therefore the farm area is well watered by streams & springs forming sponges particularly in the wet land. Water in the streams are clear and fast flowing with consistently high dissolved oxygen supplying the dams.
The Guest House consists of 4 bedrooms, 2 rooms on-suite, spacious dining area with communal bar. The kitchen is fully equipped and ideal for self-catering.
